Board-SELECTION
- The board selector below is a rough guide to determine the size of the Hover wing foil board based on the weight and ability of the rider. We consider a "beginner" to be a rider who has no previous experience in boardsports.
- Keep in mind that additional factors such as wind conditions, foil and wing surfer size play an important role in choosing the right board size.
- In general, we recommend choosing a more buoyant board whose volume corresponds to the rider's weight (e.g. an 80-kilo rider needs at least an 80-litre board or larger). Riding with a "sinker" works in places with constant, strong wind, while buoyant boards prove to be a safer choice as they allow the rider to return to shore even if the wind falls below a foilable limit.
Features:
- The 40, 50 and 60 litre boards are becoming increasingly popular due to their higher volume to length ratio and the ability to be ridden with straps. These sizes have been customised so that they can be used for both wing suring and surf foiling. The foil track boxes and tail kick have been moved 1.5 inches towards tail to allow lighter riders to mount their foils for surf foiling.
- All models have a reduced nose and tail width. This is most noticeable on the smaller sizes up to 95 and only slightly visible on the sizes above 95. The result is a lower swing weight, which has a positive effect on use with the wing surfer, especially in windier conditions.
- The positioning of the profile rail has been moved closer to the tail for all sizes. This adjustment is more pronounced in the smaller sizes than in the larger sizes.
- The tail kick has been moved further back to bring it in line with the foil track boxes, lengthening the waterline and resulting in earlier take-off.
- The double concave nose shape has been accentuated to soften the re-entry when lifting off the foil.
Suitable for:
- This new board series is perfect for wingsurfing, but also as a sup foil board, sup downwind foil board or prone foil surf.
